Someday, I'll actually sit down and make my computer look cool again...how the fuck did I have the energy to mess around with rainmeter all the time as a teenager??????? I was constantly doing cool shit with my laptop in high school :T I also changed my LJ & GJ layouts all the time and now...it's a good year if I've managed to change my tumblr layout even once XD

Also, appreciate that my last.fm for the past week is just......almost entirely enstars BUT ALSO my favorite 65daysofstatic album because I was listening to the vinyl over and over the other night XD My music taste is top tier ;D

Mostly, I've been watching enstars stage plays and they've been so good, actually?????? They're really well adapted and delightfully entrancing; I can't stop watching them. Oops???? It's just been fun!!!! We finished up the Valkyrie one right before my class started this evening and I'm still reeling from how much I wanted to punch Shu in the face the entire fucking time, in the best way possible.

uhhhh Liz & I went out last night and saw my classmate's band, which is a recurring thing since they're indie and play in a bunch of small, cool venues. Also, affordable XD I'd lost track of the days and almost missed it, but remembered like...an hour and a half before it started. SO. GOOD ON ME FOR REMEMBERING IN TIME!!!!

I'm also dying my way through screenwriting class...again......it's so fucking bad that I can't deal with it. The teacher just isn't very engaging; she has no idea how to lead a discussion or organize the class. And then there's a disruptive student that she also doesn't seem to be able to wrangle, making it basically impossible to contribute to discussions without him interrupting.

oh my godddddddddddddddd we're "discussing" the academy awards from last night (which I didn't watch because I never do and also was seeing my friend perform soooooo) and by discuss I mean she's just rambling on and sorta like....saying things like "Has anyone seen this movie?" as if that will spark a talk?? I don't fucking know. It's not working. I wanna rip my hair out.


OH RIGHT I DYED MY HAIR LAST NIGHT!!!! It's mint now~~~ I've never done this color before and it's not quite right yet...partially because my hair was still kinda red/pink in sections. I think one more round of dye will fix it, but it was after 2 am sooooo I was done for the night.

Or, technically, belated...since our anniversary was yesterday and the day before. The 23rd is the anniversary of when we started dating and the 24th is our wedding anniversary, but we tend to just celebrate them together for two days straight ;D

AND SO I CAN FINALLY SHARE WHAT I DID FOR LIZ!!!!!! I had to keep this secret for a month while I worked on it, which is basically the biggest challenge ever for me XD

That's right, I not only made them a playlist of songs, I turned it into an actual, physical object. I picked a song for each year we've been together and then wrote a note for each one- that's what the booklet is! I know CD players have become a thing of the past in a lot of ways (the last time I had a car with a CD player was in 2013? 2014?), but it's really meaningful to make things.


Look, sometimes you go to make a playlist about your relationship and you have to realize that Fall Out Boy has been a constant throughout XD


I had so much fun designing every part of this, including making a CD label. It's been far too long since we've done this!

I didn't take pictures of every page of the booklet because a lot of it is personal (and it was 16 pages long lmao), so just believe me when I say it came out beautifully and Liz loved it. They took it into work today to display on their desk ;w;

I have sooooooooo many pictures of her already; she's so sweet!!! We got her from a local shelter and they told us that she doesn't like to be held...which like, okay, maybe she didn't want to be held at the shelter, but she's been crawling all over us. She's been in and out of my lap, my arms, and onto my shoulder while I've been working on this entry ;w; She just has a lot of love and sweetness to share with all of us.

I have more to say on her and integrating her with the household, but I'm hungry XD So, I will save that and more pics for next time ;D

After spending a chunk of the day desperately trying to install koel to my server, I.......gave up and asked my host to install it for me XD I wanna be good at websites so bad but I really only know enough to get by on like, tumblr and here, lmao, so trying to do complicated stuff doesn't really go well for me.

BUT WHATEVER. IT WORKS NOW!!!!!!

Sooooo, I'm gonna spend a chunk of this week uploading music to it, so I can listen to better quality shit!!!!!!!!!! I hadn't realized just how flat things sounded until I spent a bunch of time listening to all my old mp3s from high school, and now I feel so fucking spoiled. Music on streaming services just sounds so flaaaaaaaaat.

I do have a lot of music, though, so it's gonna take time to go through and make sure all the files have the right track names/artists/albums/etc. At least I'm not working right now? XD

Oh!!!! It also has built in last.fm integration, so I don't even have to run a separate scrobbler to make sure everything shows up. tbh the built in last.fm connectivity was what drew me to Spotify, so now that I can do it on my own thing....I'm very pleased :D

Working out also continued to go well today!!!! Pat and I went on a walk in the woods - since it wasn't a million fucking degrees out, for once - and then had to go to two grocery stores to get everything for dinner. But I actually managed to run around both without any trouble so!!!!!! I'm doing a LOT better ;w;

I FOUND A SHIT TON OF MY OLD MUSIC!!!! APPARENTLY I WAS SMART ENOUGH TO BACK UP MY ITUNES LIBRARY IN 2008, SO I HAVE MOST OF MY OLD MUSIC AND PLAYLISTS FROM HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! IT'S SO GOOD!!!!!

Other good news: we're going to fucking Otakon!!!!!!! It's not really fiscally responsible, but we wanna go to the Studio Orange panel and see other Trigun fans and experience anime for a weekend. And then Liz's new job starts next Monday, so we'll be okay.

Other other good news: I'm using Otakon as an excuse to start stretching every day, so that I can be in better shape for a weekend of running around an anime convention. I know that I can't fix a decade of fucking it up in ~2 weeks, but I'm gonna do what I can!! I'm already feeling better :D I'm also feeling better mentally, and not just because I'm on my meds again. I think exercise is legit helping, which I fucking haaaaaaaate because it always works this way but still!!! How dare doing the right thing work?? XD

ALSO!!!!!!! We've been on top of updating our 2000s/LJ Trigun AU, as in we updated it twice this month. However, in finding old playlists, I had to discover that a huge chunk of one of the ones we made for the fic is basically the same as a playlist I made Pat in high school XD How could I have fucking known that the fanfic I'm writing to revisit only the best parts of my youth could possibly accidentally recreate things I made then? XD

Someone please shoot me though; why was I Hate Everything About You on nearly every fucking playlist I made back then? And why did I have Knives listening to it in the most recent chapter???? BECAUSE IT WAS POSTED BEFORE I FOUND ALL THIS MUSIC AND SOMETIMES BLORBO IS TOO REAL, OKAY, MY LIFE IS HARD!!!!!!

Life is going a lot better than it was even a month ago, though. So that's good!!!!! :D

I'm not gonna sit here and try to update the world on what I've done for the past uhhh fucking month because I'm in class and I've done a lot but last night!!! LAST NIGHT WE SAW SET IT OFF IN CONCERT AND IT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some concert highlights:

• Scene Queen is so pretty and badass and even more fun live
• fucking amazing jump scare of them playing MEGALOVANIA and then DISCORD and tbh I had no idea I needed to hear them live but damn if it wasn’t the best damn thing
• NEW SINGLE PREMIER!!!!!! we were at day one of the tour so we were the WORLD PREMIER of Set It Off’s new single and it’s SO FUCKING GOOD YOU GUYS it features Scene Queen and it’s great *w*
• everyone there dressed like I was back at Warped Tour 2005 and I was LIVING for it
• everything was good live but I was particularly excited to hear Partners in Crime because it’s on one of the juhaku playlists I made and it just fits for mmmmm so many of my ships 🖤

Chi bought us all tickets and I am forever grateful because we had an amazing time ;w; I am ALSO having the same experience I had LAST time I went to a concert - which was Arrested Youth back in 2021 - called "I jumped around and was on my feet for hours and instead of being in hell pain I feel fucking incredible???"

LITERALLY

I wore fucking Converse I got in high school so they're absolute garbage on my feet but somehow, despite all the terrible things I did to my body, I feel fine? I feel better than fine?????? My back doesn't hurt at all; I'm having a lovely vacation from chronic pain and I don't know why!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I wish I could get this experience from anything besides 1) moshing at a concert for hours or 2) getting high, apparently.

Semester ends in like two weeks and I have to catch up on so much stuff because of ADHD and my life is so fucking hard ;w; GUHBAI FOR NOW THO!!

This is the entry of "I should be in bed already and maybe I should have written this literally any other time today" but I'm here and I'm soft and sad and emotional about Trigun still but this time it's about MUSIC.

The music for Stampede is so fucking good and the second half of the OST dropped and I was so excited for how good it would be and let me tell you. It is good. It is SO good. It is so good I spent hours listening to a single song through my $150 kitty ear headphones, 100% volume, on repeat, screaming along to the lyrics so loudly I scared off my cats and it's WORTH IT.

It's so worth it I'm so fucking emotional over a guy who named himself MILLIONS KNIVES and I can't stop myself ;w;

I started working on a new layout for my tumblr because I cannot cannot cannot stop being a certain kind of fucking way about Knives and his devotion and fear and every little fucking thing so I'm here, crying into the internet and using song lyrics for all the titles of my posts, I guess.
