| OKAY. The image hosting software still isn't working properly, but at least it's being worked on by the support team. And I can still upload things through my FTP client and the in browser control panel, it's just the convenience of the specific image hosting that's lacking- for now. Cool things I did this week: more hand-sewing projects! I made a big bow for Lumos and matching-ish ones for my Judal & Hakuryuu nuis! :D  SHE LOOKS SO PRECIOUS the bow is soooooo cute on her + it has a bell and it makes such a good sound, I keep dying from how cute she is ;w;
( more pictures of Lumos + the bow itself )
making bows for my Madara and Kohaku nuis definitely inspired me, and I'm sooooo excited to have some for these little shits, too ♥Besides that...it's mostly been playing enstars, stressing about my website, and watching Liz fucking crush it at Queen's Blood in FFVII: Rebirth XD I've played some more of the OG, too, but...idk I haven't been feeling great so I've been sleeping a lot. I would really love if this could stop happening ;w; BUT!!!! I wan to make more cute things!!!!! I have a bunch of YouTube videos open on how to make rosettes for pins/ita bags, and I wanna use that knowledge to make things for my nuis. The Kohaku & Madara ones that I usually carry around are a unique size for nuis - basically only the company that makes them makes outfits/accessories for them - so I also wanna make them some more clothes. I just gotta keep inspiring myself!! Also I promised myself I was done buying Chinese enstars merch because of the tariffs - even though I love most of it, hence why I've got a bunch I preordered - but they just teased the new collection of merch and it's REALLY FUCKING CUTE!!!!!!!! Everyone has fox ears and fluffy kimonos for most of it, and then they're making fox nuis of all the characters. AS IF THE KITTY CAT KIGU NUIS I ORDERED AREN'T CUTE ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's killing me XD I guess I'll have to see how all the tariffs shake out/how feasible buying from a reseller in Japan or else is, but damn if I don't want basically that whole collection ;w; Life is hard!!! Oh, right...on Madara's birthday I did a single scout on his birthday box because I didn't have much else to spare, and this fucker gave me a third copy of his demon 5* XD I'm not even mad, just surprised!!!!!.....and then in ENG I did multiple 10 scouts and got NOTHING OF HIS. I did get some 5* cards, just not his. Which like. Okay. I'm glad to have them, but I'm also kinda desperately hoping to max out his first feature scout and get the secret color...maybe someday. Lemme finish this off with a great pic I took the other night: Double Face in their pristine unicorn kigus...on an old pay phone. I love putting them dumb places~- Tags:cats, cats: lumos, ensemble stars!, final fantasy vii, juhaku, kohamada, liz, madara mikejima, oshikatsu, pictures, sewing, website, wife

| After nearly two years with a phone I hated (the Google Pixel 6a), I have upgraded to a fancier phone...the Google Pixel 8 Pro ;D
Featuring the return to my black & white rukh phone case!!!! Steph designed it back in 2015? 2016??? (time is hard) and I'd been using it ever since, but I couldn't find anywhere that made heavy duty custom printed cases for the 6a...so I had settled for something else. BUT!!! I was able to get it for 8 Pro, so all is well in the world again :D Also, for some reason the only-so-spicy Madara fanart on my lockscreen spooked the Verizon store employee, but oh well XD THEIR LOSS, I GUESS. Anyway, I didn't like the 6a, but more importantly, Pat's phone was dying and only mine was technically up for an upgrade. So I got to upgrade to a better phone and Pat got to take my old one, which is working great for him. I'm just picky. uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I went through most of my fountain pens last night to take stock and hopefully figure out why I have so many that need to be cleaned out. The answer is ADHD - shocking, I know!!! - and somehow I ended up with even more filled than when I started XD I do have a bunch I need clean out, but it's gonna be a processssss. Honestly, I could go on and on about how nice the camera in my new phone is (it's incredible!!!!), but I've gotta go grind the jp enstars event~ So, I'll leave y'all with this cute gif of Lumos ♥ |

| Or, technically, belated...since our anniversary was yesterday and the day before. The 23rd is the anniversary of when we started dating and the 24th is our wedding anniversary, but we tend to just celebrate them together for two days straight ;D AND SO I CAN FINALLY SHARE WHAT I DID FOR LIZ!!!!!! I had to keep this secret for a month while I worked on it, which is basically the biggest challenge ever for me XD I made them a mixtape!!!!! Ten years of being dorks together~~~~That's right, I not only made them a playlist of songs, I turned it into an actual, physical object. I picked a song for each year we've been together and then wrote a note for each one- that's what the booklet is! I know CD players have become a thing of the past in a lot of ways (the last time I had a car with a CD player was in 2013? 2014?), but it's really meaningful to make things. Look, sometimes you go to make a playlist about your relationship and you have to realize that Fall Out Boy has been a constant throughout XD
I had so much fun designing every part of this, including making a CD label. It's been far too long since we've done this!
You gotta have the cool image behind the transparent bit, it's so important.I didn't take pictures of every page of the booklet because a lot of it is personal (and it was 16 pages long lmao), so just believe me when I say it came out beautifully and Liz loved it. They took it into work today to display on their desk ;w; The other big news: We got another cat! Welcome to the family, Genevieve!!!!!!!! ♥I have sooooooooo many pictures of her already; she's so sweet!!! We got her from a local shelter and they told us that she doesn't like to be held...which like, okay, maybe she didn't want to be held at the shelter, but she's been crawling all over us. She's been in and out of my lap, my arms, and onto my shoulder while I've been working on this entry ;w; She just has a lot of love and sweetness to share with all of us. I have more to say on her and integrating her with the household, but I'm hungry XD So, I will save that and more pics for next time ;D |

| I spent a big chunk of yesterday putting together a website for my fountain pen related things - mostly planning on it being ink reviews tbh - and I'm very proud of it! It's just Wordpress with one of their free themes, but I think it came out really nicely~ Ink Reviews by KillianAll the pictures were taken with my phone because I've misplaced the charger to my DSLR. Because I'm competent. I have a few reviews planned already, but I really need to be doing homework; I have a bunch due tomorrow. Did I spend hours working on this yesterday instead of homework? Maybe so!!!! But I should try...to not be completely distracted by it... Aaaaand I finally fixed all the security issues on my domains, so both setsuntamew.net and juhaku.com are using https:// by default and have properly signed certificates. I fucked it up like two years ago and never fixed it BUT IT IS DONE. AFTER MANY PERILOUS ATTEMPTS, IT WORKS THE RIGHT WAY!!!! Love that juhaku.com purely exists as an image host for myself + Liz, thx to photobucket shitting the bed a few years back. It's nice though!!! It's given me a lot of freedom to just do little projects like this, because I already have hosting set up for myself. Though...I do kinda wanna make a juhaku shrine as the landing page, in the style of early 2000s fansites. Will anyone else care? WHO KNOOOOOOWS A BUNCH OF PEOPLE RECOGNIZED ME AND LIZ AT KATSU SO MAYBE!!!!! I just have to figure out how to do something with frames but like, a modern internet take on it... OH LAST THING. I did unfortunately learn that updating my site's PHP to 7.4 - aka what Wordpress suggests - breaks the manga reader that MewDragon uses. And I'm just not good enough at PHP shit to figure out how to prevent that or fix it...so I'm running 7.1 which is ostensibly less secure but at least everyone can still read their gay doujinshi on the go. |

| IT WAS SO GOOD TO BE BACK AT KATSUCON!!!!!!!
We got there super late because I didn't wanna wake up, doing our makeup took forever, and then parking was a nightmare, but it was all worth it because it was so much fucking fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Katsucon 2020 was the last con we went to before covid hit, so it was definitely very special to finally be back ;w; Like, we went to Otakon in 2021 and 2022, but it wasn't the same; we hadn't actually been since it moved to DC. This was like...coming home, in a sense. I've been going to katsu since 2010, so being in the Gaylord is very nostalgic and familiar and incredible *w*
Also, I have got to get back to doing physical therapy, because my back nearly gave out on my countless times throughout the day >< I can't keep living like this. Like, I can handle my day to day life sucking, that's fine. But impacting my fun at anime conventions? NO. That's where I draw the line! XD
Uhhh okay so Liz and I wore our fancy juhaku robes that we made in 2017 because they're big and forgiving enough to still fit after gaining some weight. And we'd both made peace with the fact that no one would recognize us, mostly because literally no one did when we first wore them, and Magi was way more popular then. People even looked confused at the Magi photoshoot at Katsucon 2017. So okay. That's where we are. AND YET MULTIPLE PEOPLE RECOGNIZED US THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. PEOPLE CAME UP TO US EXCITED AS FUCK TO SEE NOT JUST MAGI COSPLAYERS, BUT JUDAL AND HAKURYUU.
Not complaining, just confused.
Sooooo that was good, the weather was surprisingly mild, the vibes were incredible...just walking around and seeing so many cosplayers again was so good ;w; I feel reinvigorated just from being able to observe all of it.
The final part of the night was the midnight Persona shoot (as you do) and that was also amazing. There were a decent amount of P2 cosplayers (for once): the Suou brothers, Jun, and Philemon??? Who fucking cosplays Philemon?????? So that was exciting!!!! I think Liz is gonna be living that high for awhile ♥ I mostly ended up talking to one of the Joker cosplayers about our akeshu itabags and other insane amounts of money we've spent on fandom merch XD
Oh!! And Pat found a Naoto figure in the dealers hall (always a dangerous play to go), which was a fun find. Since we got to the con kinda late, we had to speed run artist alley and dealers room in just over an hour, but we still managed to get some cool stuff. |

| Day 8 | In your own space, post self-recs for at least three fanworks that you created.I'm gonna switch it up juuuust a little and do fanfics I've written and some other fanworks I've created in different mediums. I've...done a lot of stuff over the years... Also, writing about why I'm recommending stuff of my own is hard >< But I'm trying! ( click for recs! ) |
|
| Day 3 | In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much. The entire Judal & Hakuryuu arc of Magi resonates a lot with me (surprise!), specifically the chapters in Belial's dungeon and right after. Like yeah, it's partially because it's very character driven about one of my biggest ride or die OTPs, but the message in it is also just...good and relatable to me. Enemies with a shaky agreement to fiercely loyal partners is such a good development, and Judal and Hakuryuu bonding over shared and similar problems that they initially didn't expect to have? SO GOOD. It then comes down to just kill your fucking abusers kids, and I'm also all about that XD I could honestly write essays on juhaku - and I have in the past tbh - but I already went way over the top with my rec list yesterday. Basically, I love these stupid, broken boys, and the comfort they found in each other ♥ |
|
| Day 2 | Rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create. So uh, today got rather long. I know it said three, but I got carried away and ended up with closer to...20. Okay, look, I really like fanfiction :D Full disclosure though, some of these are rather old and I haven't reread them in awhile, but I distinctly remember my younger self loving them. So they're still on here, because they shaped what I enjoy and how I write. Organized by fandom, but other than that they're not in any particular order. I don't like to rank fics by quality or whatever.
