uhhhhh what have I been up to? Besides farting around the house...

Oh! Less housework this week, if only because I had some bad pain days. I did do a big grocery run on Friday. Me and Chi hit four different stores and I got basically everything we needed. And I did make dinner yesterday, even if it was something simple. I was on voice chat with a friend I made at Otakon - because that's a thing I do now???? - and managed to do a bunch of dinner prep while chatting.

Maybe I should try to talk to friends more??????? Like not just online, but on the phone/voice chat/whatever, so that I'm less lonely during the day and it inspires me to get more done. I always do more if I'm not alone. I dunno. I used to talk on the phone all the time, but now it's less of a thing...except for jumping into voice chat on discord is sort of a thing now, I think. I dunno. I sometimes feel old and out of touch, and I'm not even that old XD

I've been picking away at the layout for this journal, but I'm struggling? I dunno. I haven't been happy with a lot of the grunge-y stuff I've done lately, and I don't really know how to fix it. I've gotten back into doing some sparkle graphics recently, partially because I've been doing a backup of them over on InsaneJournal- which btw was a whole saga to get into. But yeah, I'm slowly putting up every freebie/requestable I've ever made over on killiansicons. I suppose I could do that here, but it would completely overtake my graphics journal...I've done close to 200.

ANYWAY. Apparently, my original IJ was deleted & purged for inactivity. I went digging and found the email...which was from when I was in culinary school and didn't have consistent access to a computer. So, I see what happened. But now IJ is fucking invite only - the bane of my existence and why it took me so long to get both LJ and DW accounts - and I don't have friends on journaling sites anymore. And I went around online trying to find someone giving them out, which of course I couldn't. So I made a tumblr post looking for one...which someone replied to today, almost a week later. As if I have that kind of patience XD I paid $5 for a month of paid time so I could get one.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. I couldn't register my original username, because it was deleted and purged. Because fuck you, I guess. I would have to buy a rename token. And I already had to pay for an account, so...I ended up using one of my old GreatestJournal usernames ;D I'm kirrianu over there, and it's been really great to use a whole shit ton of my old icons from GJ. I'm glad I back them all up before the site went up in flames!!!

Anyway. I'm currently waiting on the tree people to come by and give me an estimate for cutting back our neighbor's fucking tree, because they certainly won't do it. And then we can work on dealing with the roof leaking, before that whole side of the house gets fucked up.

Oh, right, I also napped on the couch this morning and had a weird dream. Considering I almost never dream...it was weird :T

I'm not gonna sit here and try to update the world on what I've done for the past uhhh fucking month because I'm in class and I've done a lot but last night!!! LAST NIGHT WE SAW SET IT OFF IN CONCERT AND IT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some concert highlights:

• Scene Queen is so pretty and badass and even more fun live
• fucking amazing jump scare of them playing MEGALOVANIA and then DISCORD and tbh I had no idea I needed to hear them live but damn if it wasn’t the best damn thing
• NEW SINGLE PREMIER!!!!!! we were at day one of the tour so we were the WORLD PREMIER of Set It Off’s new single and it’s SO FUCKING GOOD YOU GUYS it features Scene Queen and it’s great *w*
• everyone there dressed like I was back at Warped Tour 2005 and I was LIVING for it
• everything was good live but I was particularly excited to hear Partners in Crime because it’s on one of the juhaku playlists I made and it just fits for mmmmm so many of my ships 🖤

Chi bought us all tickets and I am forever grateful because we had an amazing time ;w; I am ALSO having the same experience I had LAST time I went to a concert - which was Arrested Youth back in 2021 - called "I jumped around and was on my feet for hours and instead of being in hell pain I feel fucking incredible???"

LITERALLY

I wore fucking Converse I got in high school so they're absolute garbage on my feet but somehow, despite all the terrible things I did to my body, I feel fine? I feel better than fine?????? My back doesn't hurt at all; I'm having a lovely vacation from chronic pain and I don't know why!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I wish I could get this experience from anything besides 1) moshing at a concert for hours or 2) getting high, apparently.

Semester ends in like two weeks and I have to catch up on so much stuff because of ADHD and my life is so fucking hard ;w; GUHBAI FOR NOW THO!!

aka, I made this as a post on tumblr but now I'm gonna make it into a post here...no promises that I improve it or anything because it was a rambling list on tumblr and I'm not sure I'm smart enough to do anything else with it.

So here it is: the highlights of our stupidity~~~

• telling our waitress at Waffle House about Trigun because I brought a volume of the manga into the restaurant and she was like oh, I usually just watch anime but is that manga any good?
• why the fuck are half the rest stops on the NJ turnpike closed right now????
• going to Brooklyn for the Uhaul and forgetting to play Brooklyn Rage despite discussing it multiple times over the past week
• trying to find parking in Hell's Kitchen for said Uhaul
• giving up and just illegally parking it because fuck it, we aren’t going to be leaving it unattended anyway
• sorta planning to caravan because Liz + Pat were in the Uhaul and I was in my car with Chi + her dog, but those plans pretty much immediately fell apart
• me bemoaning not having time to go to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, aka the worst, most pretentious sbux I’ve ever been to, because my keychain from it broke. not five minutes later we drove past it by accident BUT THERE WAS NOWHERE TO PULL OVER and Chi was like “lol oh well” at my suffering.
• part two of sbux: a truck pulled out, leaving the perfect space for me to park in and run inside for a new, terrible keychain.
• part three of sbux: THEY DON’T SELL FUCKING KEYCHAINS ANYMORE MY LIFE IS A MOCKERY
• getting a huge pizza + garlic knots before leaving NYC because 1) IT’S NYC and 2) there’s no good pizza in Baltimore I gotta take what I can get
• meeting up at the Alexander Hamilton rest stop - cue Liz singing from Hamilton - to eat said pizza in the parking lot, because it was impossible to find anywhere to park and chill in NYC

-me and Liz being cringe, much to everyone else’s dismay

• seriously tho why the fuck are half the NJ turnpike rest stops closed right now
• Chi’s dog experiencing grass for the first time (at a NJ turnpike rest stop) and liking it
• Chi’s dog experiencing being in a car for the first time and NOT liking it
• Liz being apparently too damn efficient at driving and somehow overtaking me despite being in a Uhaul
• subjecting Chi to many of my Trigun opinions because she was stuck in a car with me for four hours and I have can’t shut the fuck up disease

• calling each other’s vehicles multiple times throughout the trip to yell about passing each other on the road and/or whatever other dumb thoughts we all had that couldn’t be contained to just one car
• SIX FUCKING DOLLARS for vending machine offbrand dippin dots
• Chi’s dog experiencing yards for the first time and not wanting to leave the yard to go inside our house
• Ethyl being the peace bringer and somehow calming down Chi’s dog and Lumos and helping them meet

And now I have to figure out how I want to format that quotes but I'm also tired of looking at this entry XD I have a bunch of pictures to share once I go through them, too. I brought my fancy camera and only had so much time to use it, but ohhhh well. I'm still sleepy, okay, it was a long day.

I have homework/school shit I should be doing but I'm too excited about the end of the week!!! WE'RE GOING TO NYC TO PICK UP CHI :D

I just have to get through my Japanese midterm + a bunch of worksheets, finishing up a project for digital media, doing a bunch of writing for theatre, and a paper for creative writing, but once I do I get the rewards of Chi + spring break!!!!

And yeah technically last week was midterms week but I guess some of my teachers wanted it to be two weeks :T thx everyone...

Instead of doing any of this homework yesterday, I made a new layout for my tumblr because I cannot contain my feels about Knives and the tristamp season finale and just. Yeah. Feelz hours are real, okay ;w;

Once again, I'm here to make an entry about all the shit I did all week without writing proper paragraphs or anything XD tho number one on the list is *pours one out* my paid account time lapsed and I spent all my fun money for the week on yarn, so I have very few icons right now ;w; My life is truly suffering.

Here we goooooooo!

• Took my Japanese test I missed from spraining my ankle and somehow got a 98% despite thinking I maybe possibly failed
• Went to three (3) different yarn stores to scope out the local goods. This was bad for my wallet but mostly saved by the fact that I had to wait until payday to buy anything
• Yarn, part two: Liz and I went to a gathering at the yarn shop closest to us on Thursday even and it was super nice!! Free entry, full of eccentric older people and queers around our age, free booze, and all around good times :D
• Yarn, part three: Liz, Pat, and I had errands on the other side of town on Friday so we stopped at a yarn store on the way, which had the exact yarn I needed for a knitted plush cat pattern. They were out of gray so I ended up getting just white and light orange, and I'm gonna make Hanna (rest in pieces soft baby)
• Also on Friday we went to the local BDSM dungeon for geeky boardgame night, which is honestly not that far off from the crowd at the yarn gathering I went to the night before XD tbh it was a lot of fun and I'll probably actually talk about it more later
• Made a new layout for my writing tumblr since my old one was like 7 years old. I did this instead of homework one day, because ummmm that's who I am lmao
• BDSM club, part two: got dunked on for having a Homestuck tattoo. Not because it was Homestuck - everyone was sharing their dorky tattoos - but because it was Eridan. Which is like, fair, but just remember that I had this tattoo before Liz and I even started dating
• Yarn, part four (I'm so sorry): we had to get groceries on Saturday, so I made us detour to Hobby Lobby for more yarn. I haaaaaate them as a company but what I hate even more is how fucking good their prices are for super unique yarn >< Pat got some neon yarn that I'm gonna turn into socks :D

Not on the list: The steady and increasing screams about Trigun every single day by everyone in the household!!!!!!!!!! STAMPEDE SATURDAY IS A HOLIDAY IN THE HOUSE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO AFTER IT'S OVER!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did also make plans for when we're picking up Chi!!! Yepppp, time number three of Chi living with us, this time in a house with much more space. It's just meant to be for a few months until she gets settled in Baltimore and finds her own place, but I'm still excited. We're gonna make her watch so much anime with us XD And I am always pumped for road trips, especially up to NYC. It's been awhile since we've been!!

I'm gonna return to trying to do homework but mostly just making icons to fill the void in my soul (aka can't upload them for myself so I'll post them on my icon journal). OH RIGHT I changed the resolution on my laptop slightly so it doesn't feel like I'm working with icons for ants, and it's honestly been quite nice. The internet feels bigger and more friendly again!

But first, pictures! :D I had to get a new memory card this week because I somehow lost mine in the couch????? At least I'd backed up everything from it ;w;
