"I wanna shell out $50 for the next part of the FFVII remake" I said, fully believing the lie was telling myself.

Anyway.

I picked up FFVII Rebirth on Sunday and I basically haven't put it down since XD It's so much better than Remake it's honestly incredible; they very clearly took feedback into consideration with this one. The gameplay is tightened up and modified just enough that it's fun instead of clunky, and while I still prefer the traditional turn-based experience, this is massive improvement over the last one. I still think Crisis Core feels a bit smoother because it leans more into the hack and slash nature of it, but I'm not dying in every fucking fight like I did in Remake.

ALSO THE FEW SECONDS OF ZACK IN THE OPENING IN AN ALTERNATE(??????) TIMELINE GOT ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS. I think because I just finished playing Crisis Core it hit particularly hard, but holy shitttttt, I was about ready to cry ;w;

Cloud looks so good too, like...they really have nailed "anime spiky hair bullshit" mixed with realism...it looks so soft and fluffy and also well spiked. It's just. idk. It manages to nail a lot of the stylistic things that fell short in Kingdom Hearts 3, and while I'm delighted it did...it also makes me sad for what could have been in KH3. It was ALSO an amazing game, but I'm still fussy about the style changes between KH3 and literally every other KH game ever :T

MOVING ON!!!

For the first time in a long time, I feel like I'm playing a game that was made for the PS5. Besides Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, everything else I own for the PS5 is on at least one other system (usually a fair amount), because everything is made for every damn system now!!!! It makes it feel like.....why do I have this system if it's just like everything else on the market?

BUT NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFVII REBIRTH FEELS LIKE IT'S USING THE FULL CAPABILITIES OF THE SYSTEM!!!!!!! And not just like, oh the graphics are fancy, isn't that enough? No!!! There are so many little details that pull it all together and make it a richer experience *w*

I have a lot of other thoughts about it, but tbh I just wanna go back to playing....

OH ALSO!!!! We had to go out to get more food for Lumos, because she's currently on "only the fanciest food money can buy" for her sensitive tummy...which is definitely hitting us where it hurts (the wallet). But we also picked up some groceries, including this absolutely necessary ceramic figure of a balloon animal. What animal? I have no idea, but I love him ♥

Anyway! Hi, I'm Killian~ I just turned 34 earlier this week and I live on the east coast of the US - though not in the same state that I grew up in! - with my wife dragonofeternal & my bff arahith. We bought a house a couple years ago and very quickly filled it with a delightful amount of fandomy things, as well as our four cats :D I'm currently a creative writing student, and I'll be finishing up my associates degree this spring, with hopes to transfer to a bigger university to complete my bachelors. Very exciting!!!!

I'm currently deep, deep in Trigun hell, thanks to my wife dragging me into it last year ♥ It's got me in a fucking death grip; I got out of watching the 98 anime and IMMEDIATELY started writing fic, the same day, and that fervor hasn't really subsided yet XD It's, uh, really good, I swear!!!!!!!

One of my first loves is Kingdom Hearts, and it will always have a very special place in my heart. I enjoy JRPGs in general, particularly Final Fantasy VII & X and the Persona series. Other "previous" fandoms include Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Mo Dao Zu Shi, and Yu-Gi-Oh!........though previous is a kinda strong term, since I can never truly leave a fandom behind.

Fun fact: my wife and I met through Homestuck, and they decided to date me despite the Eridan sleeve tattoo I have XD That's true love, baby!!!! We've been together for over a decade now ♥

Other fun fact: my desk has been dubbed the "ita desk" because of how extensively I've decorated it. I'll share a pic and let y'all be the judge of that XD


Okay okay okay, lemme try to wrap this up some~ When it comes to participating in fandom, I mostly write fanfiction, all of which can be found at my AO3. I'm the most active on bluesky, because it's still fairly slow moving and lowkey, with a lot of the features of Twitter I use most. I also cosplay occasionally, but not as often as I used to ;w;

Welp, January pretty much flew by, with work, birthday, and KH3...It was a busy time! Now is the season of....even busier work :T Valentines Day is a wild time for adult stores, for some odd reason.

I beat KH3 uhhhh Wednesday night/Thursday morning? It was like 3 am, okay, and I fucking beat it early enough that the secret ending wasn't available for download yet!!! I was like oh come on, it's the 31st already, gimme what I earned for playing on Proud XD This is a spoiler free post tho; I have a lot of thoughts but I need time to ruminate on them more.

Also, finally did my check in for getyourwordsout and mehhh I'm not happy with how much I wrote in January, but it was better than nothing. I always struggle in the winter, but I wanna change that some day. I have some shit I need to get done in the next week.

SPEAKING OF THAT ACTUALLY!!! I started taking ADHD meds yesterday, and I already feel good about it!! I got a ton of housework done that I'd been putting off, without even stressing about it. I'm just on a super low dose for the first few days, so it'll be a bit before I get the full effect. However, I'm very hopeful! I want to be able to do things!!!!!!!!!

Okay okay I'm a day late on saying that, but I've been playing basically nonstop since it launched!!!! I'm currently at work because I couldn't afford to take more time off, but it's been an amazingly wild ride so far ;w;


Pat made us sea salt ice cream for release day and I feel like this was just a very wholesome moment ♥

I know, I've been playing the Japanese edition since launch, but I'm so fucking excited to be able to understand everything properly!!!! Despite how negatively I usually feel about GameStop, I am pleased that they're doing a 9 pm launch tonight :D Getting it a few hours early~~~~

We didn't quite get to the end of the Japanese version, but we got SO close!! I just don't wanna miss picking it up in English. So Liz, Pat, and I are just sorta...sitting on the couch...waiting..........

Anyway, that's what I've been doing for the past day (though unfortunately I'm currently at work, wishing I was at home). I'll be keeping any spoilers under cuts, though don't expect too much from me. I've been the one manning the controller while Liz and Pat watch :D

Also, I haven't been saving most screenshots to my PS4 on the off chance that I accidentally share them with my feed, because I don't want to spoil any of my friends. So I've just been taking pictures.....like it's 2006 all over again, I guess XD

Doing some housekeeping/organization, which means updating my doujin collection spreadsheet, and I'm just like..............why am I like this. Why do I have so many???? I haven't finished updated the exact counts yet because I'm still working on things, but I'm definitely at the 400+ mark now...

There are just a lot of good Magi doujins okay.....

Related, Liz got me some KH doujins for my birthday, and after being delayed for ages, they have finally arrived!!!! :D
