Yeah, that's right: I made a second enstars layout for myself!!!! Usually I don't change my DW layouts super often, so I don't end up having more than one per fandom, but I have been possessed. I can't escape my love of these dumb idol boys ;w;

Anyway!!!! Happy (Belated) New Year!!! I kept meaning to update, but I kept telling myself I wanted to finish this layout first, but then it kept taking longer than anticipated...and now here we are, nearly two weeks into the year XD I completely missed updating about my birthday, too. OOPS. Yay, I'm 35 now!

Uhhhhhhhhh okay but that's not nearly as interesting to me as this layout I made, okay? The original was made by snubbly for the Smooth Sailing S2 style, back in approx 2007, so it's got a very retro LJ look- which is what I was going for! But Smooth Sailing doesn't exist on DW and LJ phased it out, so I had to track down the raw code from elsewhere. And I did - clearly - but it didn't entirely play nice with DW. I had to go in and fiddle with variables, something I swore I'd never do because S2 confuses me too much, and eventually I made it work right :D So I'm quite proud of it.

Also I just LOVE the card art I used ;w; I actually had to rip them from the JP game because I started working on this layout the day they came out and no one had updated the wiki yet. Good thing I know my way around my phone XD

I have more to talk about, but tbh I'm sleepy and just sorta riding the high of having finished this layout~ THOUGH WAIT YES ONE MORE THING: threesentenceficathon is here!!!! I haven't written anything yet, but I can't wait to get started~~~

It has continued to snow, making it a beautiful winter wonderland on our street!!!!!!!!!!! :D


I'm still not feeling good enough to necessarily frolic in it, but I made it most of the way down the driveway (before arahith chased me back up because of ice at the bottom of it), and I'll call that good enough. This pic is from a few hours ago and tbh it's STILL snowing :D The only major downside is that our first floor bathroom is 1) freezing cold and 2) not reliable, but other than that, things are good.

Well, except for still being annoyingly sick ><

I also managed to write a bunch of fills for threesentenceficathon, which is the other thing I was mad at being sick ruining for me. I have plans to work on some more, I just have to eat some real food today...not just jello. Sometimes, recovery is eating more jello in a week than you usually eat in a year, okay.

uhhhhhhhh other than that, I might be hitting up Magfest on Sunday? It's way too expensive to go for the whole weekend - and tbh it's good I didn't plan on it, what with the weather and being so sick - but just Sunday isn't too bad. I'm playing it by ear, though. If the roads suck and I don't feel great, I'm staying home and playing video games on my comfy couch XD

OH ALSO I love the snow + Liz's (relatively) new job, because it means wife gets to work from home and we can cuddle on the couch when their work is slow, peacefully watching the weather together *w* I'm really happy for them and their job, they love it a lot, and also it's very understanding of inclement weather + emergencies.

I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD I HAVE SPENT THE COUPLE MONTHS SICK BASICALLY NONSTOP.

Like, as soon as I recover enough to start living my life again, BAM!! Get fucked, dipshit!!!!!!! I was sick with some sort of horrific bacterial infection over Thanksgiving for about two weeks, I recovered just in time for finals, and then got COVID over Christmas & New Years. I felt mostly better by my birthday (though not 100%, by any means, but like....better-ish) AND NOW, GUESS WHAT!!!

FUCKING SICK AGAIN.

I spent nearly 4 hours in the emergency room last night, because I was having severe trouble breathing + chest pains, and those are the sorts of things that they're like "oh shit, you gotta seek medical attention NOW" sooooo I did. And it was a huge waste of my time, besides the IV of fluids I got because I was severely dehydrated. I keep having massive coughing fits any time I swallow anything at all, including water, so while I usually drink 100+ oz of water daily, I hadn't been able to.

BUT BESIDES THAT??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOPE. I should have just gone to the urgent care I usually go to; it would have at least taken less time for basically the same results!!!!! The ER staff kept trying to give me meds that interact with my mental health meds, and then seemed lost and and confused when I actually knew and cared about drug interactions. Like, yes, sorry, I can't take NSAIDs and would prefer if you didn't give me them??????????????

Don't worry though!!! They REALLY wanted to push the ~magic mouthwash~ instead of anything else, which is legit just a numbing mouthwash that is supposed to make it easier for me to swallow but in actuality did basically nothing at all. I dunno what kinda kickbacks they're getting for pushing it, but goddddd I was so tired of hearing everyone call it that by the end.

Anyway. Liz took me to Taco Bell afterwards, despite the snow causing the first one we tried to close early, and that healed me....or at least I was able to eat for the first time in 24 hours, which helped a lot.

It's the first proper snow we've had in like two years, and instead of being able to frolic in it, I'm just sick ;w; I'm so upset!!!! I'd been having fun with threesentenceficathon too, but now my brain is mush from being sick. Can I catch a fucking break please????????
