Guess who drove down to DC to get a remaster of a video game? THIS GUY!!

I'd been meaning to pick it up for years, but the price of a used copy finally dropped to something reasonable, soooooo~ TIME TO DRIVE TO THE ONLY GAMESTOP IN THE BALTIMORE/DC AREA WITH A COPY!!!! We got to the mall with approx. 15 minutes to get to the store before closing, which wouldn't be too hard if the mall wasn't so fucking massive. Seriously, there's both Costco and Target inside the fucking mall. It's too damn big.

BUT WE GOT IT!!! I'm delighted to have it on ps5 now - thus adding to my very small library of ps5 games, lmao - so that I can experience it again and show it to Liz and Pat. I played it when it first came out, so my memories of Crisis Core are hazy at best XD So it's exciting!!!!

.....except for, you know, the worst part of modern gaming:


WHY. CAN YOU NOT JUST LET ME PLAY MY FUCKING GAME???? WHAT MORE IS THERE TO INSTALL??????????
This game is over 21gb so it's taking forever to install for some god damn reason. I just want to keep beating up monsters!!!! sobs. It's still fucking working on it...hence why I'm making a dreamwidth post.


I like how Kohaku got a super pretty photoshoot with cherry blossoms and I stuck Madara on this weird vase I found in a mall XD

I have been writing casually about the malls in the NoVA area because it's all so fascinating to me as a person who has never seen big malls despite living in some of the more notable places where you'd think they would be (like Boston, Southern California, etc). Some of them are just RIDICULOUS. I know of one mall with a Target in it, but I'm not sure if it has a Costco so now I'm curious which one it was!

The installation thing has bothered me as far back as the PS3/PS4 (I forget which one) and earlier XBOX variations. Probably one of the main reasons I stuck with the Nintendo side of things is that they didn't have this weird ~super slow~ installation speed.

I find that like....midwest into the more southern part of the east coast tends to have the most malls and some of the biggest. At least that's what I've observed coming from western PA, which had a huge boom of malls- and some of the earliest! Maybe just cuz there's a lot of space in PA/OH/VA and not a lot else to put in it? XD I was at Westfield Wheaton in Wheaton, MD~

GOD IT'S SOOOO SLOW it drives me nuts!!! I really only got a PS5 for one game, but I've been trying to get more for it so it wasn't just a huge waste of money...BUT THE INSTALLATION TIMES SUCK.

Oh, that makes a lot of sense! I'm sure they make a lot of money having a bunch of shopping malls tied into the Metro here too, but then there's some that are a bit further out that confound me like who was this mall made for? Potomac Mills, I'm looking at you.

That was me with my PS4 (bought for a single game) and I ended up losing interest. I don't want to have to wait another hour to play a game when I can download it plus install it within like 10 minutes on my PC.

With that said, I think it's really funny the dialogue is right at the door. I get why it is, but it's a funny visual to see every time.
